The Stinger HEIGH10 represents the biggest game-changer in in-car entertainment for the ‘Puma’ (2007-2016) Defender since the dashboard update introduced in 2007. The Stinger HEIGH10 is an all-in-one fascia/screen package that brings your Defender audio set-up into the modern world with a 10in interactive touch screen that’s located high up in the dashboard right where you want it. No more taking your eye off the road to look down at a Double DIN screen and stabbing at tiny function buttons.  Large easy to read on-screen menu buttons and just four physical buttons for Home Screen, track forward/backward and Phone improve useability.One massive advantage of the Stinger HEIGH10 is unlike a typical Double DIN conversion there is no cutting of the dashboard ‘cheeks’ or extending of the wiring to relocate the factory switches. All of the factory switches remain within the HEIGH10 central fascia creating a much cleaner/neater/faster install.As you’d expect the HEIGH10 features Apple CarPlay (wired) and Android Auto (wired) connectivity where the much larger on-screen buttons provide a greater level of functionality and ease of use.The large tablet sized screen also means navigation apps are clearer and easier to use. Another advantage of the combination of smartphone connectivity and the large screen is you now have the ability to utilise off-road navigation apps like OnX and Gaia GPS where the larger screen of the HEIGH10 turns your head unit into a useful navigation tool for extended off-road adventures rather than you having rely upon a separate tablet or phone screen.Audiophile Approved Sound with all of the inputs you’ll ever need. The Heigh10 features a built-in amp (16w RMS x 4) and 6ch RCA outputs with subwoofer control. A 15-band graphic equaliser with 6 user pre-sets, Hi/Lo front rear crossover with 6 user presets and a Toslink (optical) audio output.The HEIGH10 kit also contains a Plug & Play OBD connection between the vehicle OBD port and the HEIGH10 unit to provides you with access to vehicle info not shown on the Defender main gauge cluster, eg Battery charge status, oil temperature etc.Other screens can display performance figures …And perhaps, more useful in a Defender, another screen can display off-road stats like pitch, roll and compass headings etc.The Stinger HEIGH10’s screen features a high-resolution, 10-inch capacitive touchscreen with 16.7 million colours for a full visual experience. The HEIGH10 features a reverse camera input as well as three additional camera channels should wish to create all round system!The HEIGH10 Defender kit and mounting ensure a seamless and factory-like installation, giving your vehicle’s HEIGH10 display a professional and integrated look.Each kit is supplied with a Defender-specific harness to establish a direct and secure connection between your vehicle and the HEIGH10, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance. The interface offers enhanced control over your infotainment system, allowing you to manage camera triggers while showing advanced vehicle gauges easily via the Defender OBD connection.

The Heigh10 comes with a USB extension cable so you create a USB port somewhere within the dashboard to connect to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto (pictured above furthest right). If you'd rather use an existing blank switch hole (so you don't have to drill a hole somewhere in the dash) we offer a genuine style USB extension socket, as pictured below.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Can I buy the fascia plastic separately?

    No the fascia can only be sold in conjunction with the HEIGH10 headunit.

    Why is CarPlay and Android Auto only available through a wired connection?

    The official line on this from Stinger is that wireless is very power hungry when you're using apps. In the US where journeys are typically longer than in Europe, the power draw of someone using a nav app and a music app at the same time means a wired connection makes more sense.

    Is there a HEIGH10 kit available for earlier Defender models?

    Not yet. Stinger are gauging interest. 

    Do I need a Puma Adaptor cable?

    No. The HEIGH10 kit includes an ISO adaptor harness.

    Do I need a DAB antenna?

    No. The HEIGH10 kit includes a DAB antenna.

    Will DAB+ radio work where I live?

    Check DAB coverage in your area. There are some countries with no DAB network, e.g. USA & Ireland.

    What happens to the air vents located either side of the clock on the original dashboard?

    A trade-off for the larger screen is you lose the air vents (and the clock) on top of the exiting fascia. The HEIGH10 screen has a clock displayed in the corner of the screen whenever the unit is turned on and when we tested the prototype unit in 30+ temperatures in central Spain, there was no noticeable lack of air-con effectiveness.

    I've already fitted a double DIN fascia to my Tdci Defender. What do I do with the side cheek panel which currently houses my relocated switches?

    The beauty of the Heigh10 fascia is that you can re-position all your original switches back into the centre of the dash. That will then free up space in your aftermarket 'side cheek' panel to fit 6 additional switches (the hazard hole can be blanked off using our Hazard blank). We offer a range of genuine style switches, USB sockets and blanks which are all compatible with the Tdci switch holes, so you can fit them to the Heigh10 fascia or your now defunct switch relocation panel.

    Can I install the Stinger Heigh10 myself?

    Check out the video below which will guide you through the fitting process. Fitment does not require any specialist wiring skills, although as always we do recommend if you're in doubt you should seek out a specialist fitter.

    We know that when you shop online you want your order as soon as possible. Choose DHL shipping in the checkout and order before 2pm then you’ll get your stuff the next working day.

    On smaller items we also offer a 2nd Class postage service. This normally takes 2-3 working days to show up at your door. If you’re in a rush go for the DHL option for a fully tracked service.

    Big Stuff! Unfortunately, our Side Panels, Bulkhead Bars and longer lengths of Cargo Tracking are too big for DHL to handle. We generally use UPS or Fed-Ex but that’s on an ad-hoc basic so you need to order before 12 to get a next day service.

    We charge the same rate to any UK address, which includes Highlands and Islands and Northern Ireland. We do this because we think its unfair to charge more just because you live remotely, lets be honest if we could, we’d live there too. In exchange please be patient if your parcel takes more than one day to arrive.

    European Shipping

    We use DHL to ship to all our European customers, this can range from a 1-5 working day service. The good news is most parcels arrive within 3 days of shipping. If you’re lucky enough to live in France, Germany or Belgium you might even get your parcel the next day.

    Once you’ve ordered DHL will be in touch by email with tracking details. If you’ve chosen Royal Mail shipping then you should receive your parcel in around 10 working days (note this can be up to 28 working days).

    Important information for customers within the European Union

    Following the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union there have been changes to import and export practices. Customers within the EU will no longer pay UK Tax. 

    When the parcel arrives within your country you may be liable to pay both local VAT, import duty and admin charges. Please do not ask us to estimate the cost of any additional costs once the parcel has the left the UK. These charges are levied locally, they will vary from country to country.

    As the buyer you are responsible for paying these charges, which must be paid before your goods are delivered. If you decline to pay the charges then the goods will be returned to us. Goods returned as a result of payment failure will be refunded. Please note we can only refund the cost of your original order. Delivery costs will not be refunded. Refused parcels may also levy re-entry fees into the UK, they will also be deducted from your refund. If you are thinking of rejecting a parcel due to customs charges, we strongly recommend you contact us first before you reject the parcel. 

    If you require further information, we recommend contacting your local tax office.

    Please Note: If you live in The Alps or somewhere equally beautiful and hard to get to, we might have to use DPD or TNT to deliver. They should be just as quick.

    USA & Canada Shipping

    American & Canadian customers can expect a 2-3 working day service with DHL, depending on whether your East or West Coast.  DHL will be in touch via email with all the info you need once you’ve placed your order.

    Rest of the World Shipping

    The good news is we ship to pretty much everywhere (we don’t ship to Russia, sorry!).

    The best service to choose is DHL, most parcels are delivered within 4 working days. This service is fully tracked and DHL will email you with all the details as soon as they’ve collected your ‘stuff’

    If your parcel is light enough, you’ll be offered Royal Mail shipping in the checkout process. This will be delivered locally by your nearest post office. We’ve found that some countries have better postal systems than others. It can take up to 20 working days for post to arrive, so if you are in a rush please choose DHL in the checkout.

    Customs & Duties

    All packages imported to your country may be subject to customs, taxes or other fees. You are responsible for all applicable customs, duties, taxes and fees charged by your government.

    We cannot guarantee that you will or will not be charged any customs taxes or duties.

    If you’re worried about possible charges please contact your country's customs office prior to purchasing for respective charges and rates on packages coming from outside of your country.

    If you decline parcels locally due to customs duty/tax charges then the goods will be returned to ourselves. Note this will incur further charges which we will debit from your refund, this can often be more than the original customs charges so we would advise you not to do this. If you have made a mistake with your order/ cannot pay the import duty charges then please get in contact with us and we will try to work out the best way forward for you.

    Note: Please don’t ask us to declare your goods as a gift, or to value your items at less than they are worth. We’d love to be able to help you out, but we don’t want to end up in jail!

    Returns & Exchanges

    You can return items that you are not happy with within 28 days from purchase. If you’d like to return something or you believe you have a faulty item please contact us via email and we we’ll do our best to resolve the issue with as little fuss as possible.

    Once we receive your returned parcel, we will process everything accordingly and keep you updated via email. We aim to refund customers the same day that an item is returned. If you originally paid by PayPal then you should receive the refund instantly. However, if you paid by sage pay using a credit or debit card it can sometimes take a few days for refunds to be credited.

    If you believe you have received something in error or a part is missing from your delivery please contact us immediately. Packing errors can only be rectified if we have been informed of the error within 28 days of the parcel being received.
