Special edition lamps

The clear lens LED Defender lamps are the exact same lamps as those found on SVX, Fire & Ice, Rough and X-Tech Limited Edition model Defenders and the same as the rear LED lamp upgrade kit found in the official Land Rover Defender accessory/options catalogue. If you have one of the very last Defender models, the indicator lamps will finish off the LED tail lamps on Adventure and Autobiography models that were not fitted with LED indicators.

Upgrade to LED

Land Rover does not include LED indicators on any of its Limited Edition models. We can supply owners with a pair of LED indicator/turn signals that will match exactly your current LED Defender rear lamps. The MUD Defender LED indicators will fit straight onto the OE lamp plinths and perfectly compliment your existing LED lamps. Also note that indicator/turn signals on all Limited Edition models are inboard of their usual mounting location as illustrated below.

E-Marked

Do not confuse our LED lamps with crude and cheaper LED lamps widely available. Our lamps are made by the same manufacturer that supplies Land Rover with its Original Equipment (OE) LED lamps. All of our Defender LED lamps carry the E-mark seal of European approval and are backed by a no quibble two year guarantee.

Pair With

Here you'll find parts that relate to the product page you're currently viewing. They may be listed in the product description as additional components you will need, or simply a helpful suggestion for other parts along a similar theme.

Bigger output

One of the benefits of using our OE spec’ LED lamps are their superior lens optics and LED output that outperform cheaper LED lamps.

Plug 'N' Play

All of the Defender LED lamps are supplied pre-wired with the correct connectors compatible with the Defender wiring harness from 300Tdi onwards. We can supply compatible female connectors for 200Tdi and earlier models (and the pre ‘99 rectangular fog & Reverse lamps) on request.

How do I mount the LED Lamp to my Defender?

All of our Defender LED lamps will fit directly onto the OE fitment round plinths used on NAS trucks. Plinths are available to buy separately if you are upgrading from the 73mm standard Defender indicators.

All of our mounting plinths are Land Rover OE Genuine Parts. These will screw into the existing tail-lamp fixing holes so there is no need to drill extra holes in your bodywork.

Do I need to replace my relay?

When upgrading your lamps to LED indicators you will also need to fit an LED relay. This is a plug and play solution to the common ‘fast-flash’ characteristic when retro-fitting LED indicators.

One minor but unavoidable drawback to using an LED relay is that you will lose the trailer warning lamp function on your dashboard. The trailer lamp will now flash with the indicators whether you have a trailer fitted or not.

FAQs

I've seen reference to 'New' and 'Old Style' lamps on some of the other Perei lamps. Which style are the Clear Indicator Lamps?

MUD has secured a large quantity of OE spec Perei clear lens 95mm LED lamps with the traditional OEM 32-LED pattern, therefore all the clear lamps on our online store (with the exception of the reverse) are the original lamps fitted to the Land Rover special edition models (SVX, Fire & Ice, X-Tech etc).

The original coloured lens lamps are in the process of being discontinued, and have been replaced with a 14-LED pattern. Visually, the lens design of the revised Coloured lens lamps looks exactly the same as the ‘old’ Perei lamps. The change in the number of LEDs is however noticeable when the lamp is illuminated. The picture here demonstrates this using the stop/tails as an example, however it's important to remember this does not affect the clear lamps and is merely for illustration. The left red stop tail is the 'old style' the right red stop/tail is the 'new style'. There is not currently an option for a clear indicator in the 'new style' 14-LED pattern.
