Ghost Towns
Abandoned America.
Rusted cars, abandoned towns and mining relics. All of the scenes in
this folder are of Californian Ghost Towns discovered on trails in
Charles Wells, excellent Guide to Southern California Backroads &
4-Wheel-Drive Trails. |

Jeep Iceland
In 2005, DaimlerChrysler Jeep UK commissioned Kevin Baldwin from MUD-UK
to help with planning and logistics of a press trip to Iceland and a
tour of the Icelandic Interior.

Rock Chick
We first bumped into
dirt bike riding, off-road racer, LA Paramedic, D90 driving Carey
Steiner on a trail in Moab. Three years later, we ran into her at an event in
California. Inviting us out on a
hardcore trail in Death Valley provided a good excuse to show off her
awesome Sunray Axles on her seriously modified D90. |
Dempster Highway, Canada.
Another commission for Kevin from DaimlerChrysler Jeep was to lead a
group of Jeeps along the Dempster Highway to reach Canada's northern
most point by road. The trip covered 5000 miles in 16 days and endured
minus 30 temperatures within the Arctic Circle before driving the 160
mile ice-road to Tuktoyaktuk. |

Death Valley
Hosted by the Southern California Land Rover Club and the Land Rover
Club of Las Vegas, the Rover Rendezvous Rally is an annual spring time
get together for West Coast Rover owners. We packed our tents and
camped in the desert at Panamint Springs. |
|
Discovering America
One hundred degree heat in Monument Valley, Arizona one day and then 2 days later on a snow covered ledge at an altitude of 12,000 feet approaching the summit of 'Engineer Pass' in the Colorado Rockies. |
 |
 |
Iceland Rovers
44-inch tyres and 3psi. Just for the record, 'NO' they don't really re-inflate them up with lighter fluid! Snorri Gislason is one of the founders of the Iceland Rovers tour company and the undisputed king of the modified Land Rover in Iceland. We are not worthy! |
|
Iceland Overland
Three Land Rovers and three weeks spent touring the Icelandic Interior.
Europe's last true wilderness is every off-roader's dream destination.
Not cheap to get there, but its breathtaking landscapes and vast empty
spaces make it somewhere you should aim to go before you die. |

Safari Gard
The first time we met the guys from
Californian Land Rover specialists Safari Gard was at the Solihull
Society Rally in Moab, Utah a few years ago. The next time we were
heading out to the USA we got in touch with SG to let them know we were
coming. SG owner Greg Jevne asked us if we'd fancy meeting up in Johnson
Valley and join him driving 'The Hammers' in his Defender based Rock
Buggy. We didn't need asking twice! |
