MUD Tunnel Tray Defender Tunnel Tray
£41.00
Available to fit R380 & LT77
gearbox
The MUD Tunnel Tray has been designed to fit on top of the transmission tunnel of all right-hand drive Defenders fitted with the R380 (300Tdi & Td5 models)
and the earlier vehicles fitted with the LT77 gearbox.
Unfortunately the Tunnel Tray will not fit factory V8 engine vehicles
fitted with the LT85 gearbox.

Moulded cup holders provide drinks storage on the move, while the additional storage trays put an end to pens and small change disappearing forever in your Defender dashboard.

Moulded from ABS plastic all MUD Tunnel Trays comes with a
textured finish that perfectly compliments the factory finish Defender trim.

Each Tray comes supplied with rubber edging to maintain that factory
appearance.

The cup holders in the MUD Tunnel Tray will accept most popular-sized drinks containers
and are supplied with a neoprene insert

The cup holders and the additional pen trays double up as useful oddment containers for all of the stuff we inevitably end up carrying with us on the road.
The MUD Tunnel Tray makes sure you always have your pens, pencils, small change, mobile or Maglite to hand. The raised profile of the tray around the rubber gaiter also means it creates another useful dumping ground for all those odds and sods
we inevitably accumulate.

R380
The MUD Tunnel Tray is also available with 12v power sockets pre-installed. The
socket we use for this application is one of our marine grade heavy-duty power sockets. These offer a superior positive locking action to regular 12v
sockets to create a failsafe power connection.

LT77
We can add up to 3 x 12v sockets in the MUD Tunnel Tray.

On the R380 version the MUD Tunnel Tray (pictured above) has been designed to be a snug interference fit around the base of the gearstick rubber gaiter, the
R380 MUD Tunnel Tray requires no fixings to install and therefore can be fitted in seconds.

The design of the LT77 MUD Tunnel Tray (pictured above) differs slightly from
the R380 version. NOTE: The LT77 Tunnel Tray will only
fit Right-Hand drive vehicles.
Firstly the LT77 Tunnel Tray requires a pair of fixings to secure the
MUD Tunnel Tray to the Transmission Tunnel. The screws fasten into existing
fixing holes on top of the transmission tunnel. Extended screws are supplied
with the Tunnel Tray.

FAQ
How do I know whether I have an R380 gearbox?
The R380 was fitted to the 300Tdi & Td5 models. The R380 has reverse gear
behind fifth. i.e. to the right and back.
How do I know whether I have an LT77 gearbox?
The LT77 was fitted to the earlier models up to and including the 200Tdi
versions. The LT77 has reverse gear
to the left of first gear and forward.
Will the Tunnel Tray fit my V8 model Defender?
Early V8 models including the NAS 110SW were fitted with the LT85 gearbox.
Unfortunately the Tunnel Tray will not fit and cannot be modified to fit these
models.
North American Specification D90 models were fitted with the R380 gearbox. The
Left-Hand drive version of the Tunnel Tray will fit NAS 90 models.
Will the Tunnel Tray fit my left-hand drive vehicle?
We have an R380
version of the Tunnel Tray to fit left-hand drive vehicles. Unfortunately we
do not supply a LHD version of the LT77 Tunnel Tray.
I have a
300Tdi conversion in my earlier vehicle. Which MUD Tunnel Tray do I need?
If you've used the R380 transmission tunnel cover, then the R380 Tunnel
Tray should fit.
However, as few conversions are alike it's impossible for us to be 100% certain.
I have an aftermarket cubby box in my truck. Will the Tunnel
Tray fit?
We recommend you check the available clearance at the front of the cubby
box. You may need to relocate your cubby box further back. The picture below
illustrates how close the seatbox the Tunnel Tray fits. It is normally possible
to relocate the cubby box mounting location.

How do I wire in the 12v socket?
We recommend making a small incision in the matting over the tunnel
and run a length of two core wire back to the fuse box or directly to the
battery. Use one of the spare unused terminals within the fuse box. When wiring
directly to the battery install an inline fuse for each socket. DO NOT piggy
back multiple socket wiring. |
