Carling Technologies Switches
 |
Carling Technologies Switches are a popular range
of durable and reliable switch body as used as OE equipment throughout
the world by vehicle manufacturers such as Volvo, DAF, Renault, JCB and
Massey Ferguson. MUD offers the Carling Contura II switches together with a range of
dedicated Carling switch mounts and accessories. |
Carling Contura II Switches
Square window illuminates green with the sidelights matching the standard
Land Rover dashboard illumination.
Switch activation is indicated by orange LED bar. Wired with standard 6.3mm male spade terminals on rear of switches. Switches are supplied with wiring diagrams.
All Contura II switches are rated at 20amps

Three position switch allowing you to wire two auxiliary circuits
through one switch. Typical application would be for controlling two
pairs of spotlamps or two electric fans via the one switch. Click switch once
to activate circuit one; click again to activate circuits one and
two.

This alternative three position switch allows you to wire two auxiliary circuits
through the one switch.
This switch differs from that above in
that circuits one OR two are activated completely
independently of one another.

Momentary spring loaded 1-way rocker switch.
Typical application would be a horn, screen wash control or as a one-way
internal winch control. Use a pair of Off-Mom switches to control in &
out functions.

Momentary spring loaded 2-way rocker switch.
Use the single pole switch when using the momentary switch as an internal hardwired
electric winch control.

Suitable as an in-cab winch controller. Sliding safety lock prevents accidental switch activation. In our opinion the locking action makes this switch better suited to recreational winch use than competition winch use.

Technologies Hazard Warning Switch - Exclusive to MUD £13.99
The Hazard switch is available with a choice of black or red switch
rockers with Hazard legend for easy identification day or night. The red
window illuminates with the sidelight function.

Carling Switch Mounts and Accessories
Our range of genuine Carling Switch accessories provide a
professional looking finish to any switch installation.
Use the gang mounts to install multiple switches within a single
mounting frame. Switches simply snap into place within the gang mount.
Single mounts provide a matching 'framed' finish to individual switch
installations.
The main advantage of using gang mounts is that you only have to cut one
hole in a panel rather than try horizontally align several individual
holes when installing a row of multiple switches.
Use the interlocking mounts to create multiple switch mounts to suit
your own requirements. Both the MUD Console and MudPod have designed to
accept the Carling switch mounts.
ARB air locker switches are compatible with all Carling switch
mounts and switch accessories. |
Carling Hazard Warning Switch Multiplug : £1.00
Dedicated multiplug for the Carling Technologies Hazard switch. Coloured
red for easy identification.
**Please note that due to the different pin configurations the standard
black switch multiplugs are not compatible with the Carling Hazard
Warning switch. ** |

Carling Switch Seal : £0.75
Neoprene seal used to eliminate moisture ingress between mounting surface and the rear of switch. Predominantly a marine switch accessory (Carling Technologies switches are used by many of the world's power boat manufacturers) but useful in open cockpit off-road vehicles or 'Challenge' vehicles where there's an ever-present danger of water in the cab. Use one seal per switch.

These individual interlocking switch
frames allow you to create your own multiple gang mounts.
When ordering, use two frame ends for all installations. e.g. To
install seven switches, order 5 x centres and 2 x ends. To mount
two switches side-by-side, use two interlocking ends.

Switch Blanks : £1.00 (each)
A neat and tidy way to fill unused holes in all switch mounts.
If you think you may be adding
more switches to your vehicle at a later date, 'future proof' your
installation by ordering a switch mount with more openings than you need
and just fill in the holes with blanks until you're ready to fill the
hole with a
switch. |

Rubber Switch Rockers : £1.50 (each)
Offering a more tactile soft touch feel than the standard plastic
rockers, these rubber rockers are a straight swap for the standard
switch rockers. Available in black only.
When ordering switches, add £1.50 to price of all switches for
rubber rocker upgrade.
Note: A Carling Switch Tool is required for swapping switch rockers. |

Multi-Plug Connectors : £1.00 (each)
Tidy up a multiple switch installation with these dedicated Carling
multi-plug connector blocks. Connector plugs into back of Carling switch body.
Locking tab offers a secure connection. Requires 6.3mm female latching
spade terminals. (Not included. See Below)
Note that the total depth required for a switch and
connector is 50mm. Check available clearance.

Switch Terminals : £1.50 (bag of 50)
A bag of 50 non-insulated female crimp terminals for use with the
Carling multi-plug connectors. 6.3mm spade is latched for securing
into the multi-plug connectors.

Carling Switch Tool : £1.00 (each)
Dedicated Carling switch tool for easy removal of switches from gang
mounts and/or removing switch fronts. Forked end removes rockers. Flat
end removes switches from gang mounts. Ideally two tools should be used
for removing switches from mounts.

Switch Legends : £7.50
The Mud Legend sheet contains
84 individual legends for sticking onto the Carling switch windows. Each
legend is laminated for durability. Available in 3 styles. Black on Clear,
Clear on Black & White on Clear to permit legend illumination.

The switches ARB uses for its air-locker kits are Carling Technologies Contura II switches.
ARB switches are compatible with the full range of Carling Switch Mounts and
accessories. Please note that ARB switches rock the opposite way to our Carling
switches. MUD Carling switches operate in the American style. Push the top to
turn 'on'. ARB Carling switches operate by pushing the bottom to turn on.
A maximum of seven Carling Technologies switches can be installed within the MUD Centre console's upper and lower recesses. For a seven switch installation use two interlocking ends with five interlocking centres.
 
A pair of Carling switches can also be fitted into the MUD Console End Panels.
The switches and mounts can be fitted vertically or horizontally.
